Can you fix it?
In order to fix your Electrical Equipment, our technicians must diagnose what the fault is. We advise all our customers that this could take 3-5 business days depending on if the fault is intermittent or not and how busy we are at the time. This time frame is just a rough estimate and it can change, but we do not want to over promise so please take this into consideration.
We do have a diagnosis fee [FIX ME] which needs to be paid before we can diagnose the problem, similar to a consultation fee for a doctor. The fee covers our time to diagnose the fault.
How long will it take?
We always advise our customers that it will take anywhere from 3-5 business days to diagnose and create a quote for your equipment. The quote includes labour, cost of parts, and administrative costs. From here, if we do not already stock the parts, we must order them, which can take some time for them to arrive.
Once the parts arrive we can finally service the equipment. We need at least 1-2 business days for this process, as we run it through some tests. The worst thing that can happen is if you collect the equipment prematurely, only to have to return your equipment because it was not tested long enough!
How much will it cost to fix?
There are 3 steps: Diagnosing Fee, Repair Quotation, Customer Decision
Diagnosing Fee
Our diagnosing fees covers our time and labour to inspect the equipment. Prices vary depending on the equipment. If you accept the Repair Quotation, the fee will be deducted from the final bill.
$33 Diagnosing Fee
$45 Diagnosing Fee
$60 Diagnosing Fee
$65 Diagnosing Fee
$90 Diagnosing Fee
Repair Quotation
This will advise you on the total costs of the repair. Keep in mind if you do accept this quote, the inspection fee will come off the final bill.

Is it worth fixing it?
Over the years we have found that it is up to you, the customer, to make this judgment, our technicians can only guide and provide you with information.
One of our customers for example, had a late relative gift them Video Cassette Recorder (VCR), the cost to repair the unit was well over the actual cost of the equipment, however the customer still wanted it repaired due to sentimental value.
We also encourage you to get a second opinion, as our company values your loyalty and are here for you, the customer
My Air-conditioner has stopped cooling
The first step is to determine if we are using the machine correctly. Air-conditioners need at-least 10 minutes to move onto the cooling cycle from another cycle.
The cooling cycle is usually indicated by the below:
Air-conditioner Cooling Symbol
When the Air-conditioner is on cooling, you are still able to set the temperature. For a New Zealand summer we recommend 19-20°C, otherwise the Air-conditioner will over compensate by bringing the temperature down to the indicated temperature.
For example, if we set the temperature to 5°C, the Air-conditioner will perform nonstop at full capacity, and may not ever get to this temperature. That is why we recommend about 19-20°C.
If your Air-conditioner is still not functioning correctly, please contact us through email or call us to talk to someone directly.
My Electrical Equipment is under insurance
IFIX4U can produce for you a detailed diagnostic report of your Electrical Equipment for you insurance company. Insurance companies need a valid service center to provide the report, and this usually takes 3-5 business days.
The cost of an insurance report is the dianostic fee + $10.00 for administration and reporting costs.
The fees must be paid first, from there you can claim it back from your insurance company
My Electrical Equipment is under warranty
I FIX 4U Ltd can repair under warranty electrical equipment. In order to qualify for the equipment to be repaired, we need you to supply us with proof of your purchase.
From here, we either need you to communicate with your vendor and get them to give us authorization to diagnose the equipment. We will send the report to the vendor and they will let us know if they would like the machine repaired or not.
My Electrical Equipment needs repairing
The first step you need to do is to transport your equipment to our shop on 138J Harris Road, East Tamaki. Some machines can be diagnosed in the home, however 9 out of 10 repairs must be brought back to our premises to be repaired.
Depending on the type of equipment, there is a diagnostic fee [FIX ME] which needs to be paid before we can diagnose what is the fault is, even if it is evident what the fault is we still need to run it through our tests.
After 3-5 business days we will contact you and tell you how much it will cost to repair the equipment. If you do accept the quote there maybe a delay ordering parts if they are not already in stock.
If you do accept our quote, we will go a head and order the parts and have your equipment thoroughly tested. From there, we will let you know when it is ready to be picked up and the diagnostic fee is taken off the final bill.
My Heatpump has stopped heating
First it is important to check if the heatpump is on the correct setting. Make sure the heatpump is showing the heating sign below on the display:
heatpump heating symbol
Set the temperature to 21-22°C and the heatpump will work towards this temperature, give the heatpump at least 5-10 minutes to change between modes. One thing to note is that if you set the temperature too high, for example 28°C, then it can cause strain on the heatpump, as this temperature may not be reached due to air loss or lack of insulation.
If you are still having issues after trying these steps, please do not hesitate to contact us by email or talking to one of our team members directly
